PLACES OF WORSHIP ALLOWED TO OPEN FROM 1 JUNE

Places of worship will be allowed to resume services under Level 3 from 1 June. But they will be limited to 50 people or less, depending on the space available.

Social distancing will have to be observed and all worshippers and participants will have to wear face masks in line with the Covid-19 regulations.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa now stands at 24 264. The Western Cape still leads the country with more than 65% of cases.

The deaths have increased from 481 to 524. On the positive, recoveries stand at 12 741, which is a 53% recovery rate.
