SOUTH AFRICA RECORDS ONLY 566 NEW COVID-19 CASES

South Africa recorded only 566 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as well as 84 deaths.

At the same time, national active cases have dropped to 32 546. Total cases since the start of the pandemic is now 1 513 959.

Breakdown of deaths is as follows:

  • North West – 36
  • Western Cape – 21
  • Gauteng – 19
  • Northern Cape – 6
  • Eastern Cape – 2

Vaccination Update

The number of health care workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 73 047 as of 6 pm 01 March 2021.
