SA COVID-19 CASES INCREASE BY MORE THAN 4 000 IN 24 HOURS

South Africa’s COVID-19 cases increased by 4 302 cases in 24 hours, taking the national total to 70 038. National deaths now stand at 1 480. Fifty seven (57) new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. 42 were from the Western Cape, 10 from Eastern Cape and 5 from Kwazulu Natal. The current data shows a higher percentage of male deaths (51, 2%) compared to female deaths (48.7%).
 
The Western Cape is the highest with positive cases accounting for more than 60%, followed by Gauteng at 15,9% and Eastern Cape at 14,3%. The Northern Cape still accounts for the lowest positive cases.
