SAMWUMED has two Benefit Options namely, Option A and Option B.
A member may join the Scheme on one Option and later decide to change to another. However this is allowed subject to the following conditions:
- The change may only be made from 01 January of any year.
- Changing Options at outside of this period can only be done under special circumstances and the motivation must be considered and approved by the Board of Trustees
- The request to change from one benefit to another has to be made in writing and submitted to the Scheme not later than 31 December of the previous year.
