6 783 SOUTH AFRICANS NOW INFECTED WITH COVID-19 AND 131 DEAD

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in South Africa has risen to 6 783.

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize, said that the numbers has increased by 447 with eight more deaths reported. This brings the number of people killed by the virus in South Africa to 131.

The latest deaths were recorded in Western Cape, the Eastern Cape and Gauteng.

245 747 people have been screened to date, of which 72 087 were referred for testing.

2 549 recoveries have been registered.
