1 662 NEW COVID-19 CASES AND 63 NEW DEATHS RECORDED

South Africa has recorded 1 662 new COVID-19 cases, taking the national total to 703 793 cases since the beginning of the pandemic. 63 people have died from the Virus, taking the death toll to 18 471.

Active cases are 50 779 and the recovery rate is 90%.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize and his wife Dr May Mkhize have tested positive for COVID-19. They are both in isolation.
