The Eastern Cape has surpassed Kwazulu Natal with its COVID-19 cases, says the Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize.
The Province now has 1 504 positive cases and 24 deaths. However, its COVID-19 deaths are still lower than those of Kwazulu Natal.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s total COVID-19 cases have risen to 11 350 – driven mainly by the Western Cape with 6 105 positive cases. Not only does the Province have the highest number of positive cases, but it also has the highest number of new infections.
