President Cyril Ramaphosa yesterday announced further easing of Level 3 regulations amid rising COVID-19 cases.
Easing Announcements
The following are now allowed with restrictions:
- Sit-in restaurants
- Opening of accredited hotels
- Opening of Cinemas
- Opening of Theatres
- Opening of Casinos
- Personal care services including hair saloons
- Non-contact sports including cricket, golf and tennis
- Hotels excluding AirBnB services

South Africa’s positive COVID-19 rose by 4 078 in 24 hours to reach a total of 80 412. The Western Cape leads with more than 46 000 cases. Gauteng cases are 14 620 whilst Eastern Cape are 11 919.
Deaths increased by 49 overnight, taking the national death toll to 1 674. Forty three (43) of the deaths occurred in the Western Cape whilst six (6) occurred in the Eastern Cape.
