MINISTER REPORTS 54 NEW COVID-19 DEATHS IN WESTERN CAPE IN 24 HOURS

The Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize has reported 56 new COVID-19 Deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the national deaths to 848. Fifty four (54) of the new deaths were from the Western Cape, whilst Kwazulu Natal and the Free State had one each.

Positive cases show no sign of slowing down. Dr Mkhize advised that there were 3 267 new positive cases overnight bringing the national total positive cases to 40 792.

A total of 820 675 tests have been conducted, and recoveries to date are 21 311.
