The Western Cape continues to lead the country with the rate of COVID-19 infections at 3 760 and deaths at 79.
The latest reported number of confirmed COVID19 cases in South Africa now stands at 8 232 and 161 deaths.
The Western Cape, which recorded six (6) deaths since the last report, is followed by Gauteng at 1 804 cases and 15 deaths.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Police, Bheki Cele is quoted by Talk of the Town as saying 205 members of South African Police Service had tested positive for Covid-19. Of the total number, 174 are from the Western Cape, whilst the others are from the rest of the country.
To date 292 153 screenings have been conducted and 3 153 people have recovered.
