Staying on ARV Treatment May Protect HIV Positive Patients Against Corona Virus

Apart from reducing the viral load and helping HIV positive patients to develop strong immune systems, staying on antiretroviral (ARVs) treatment may also protect HIV positive patients from COVID-19, commonly known as Corona Virus. This is according to the Southern African HIV Clinicians Society.

It urges patients who had interrupted their ARV treatment to get back now, as it could protect them from the Corona Virus.
