SA REGISTERS 1 676 NEW COVID-19 CASES & 144 DEATHS IN PAST 24 HOURS

1 676 people contracted COVID-19 in the past 24 hours whilst 144 others died due to the virus.

Total confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic now stand at 1 509 124, whilst deaths are

49 667. National active cases dropped further to 35 056.

The breakdown of new deaths are as follows:

  • Western Cape – 13
  • Kwa-Zulu Natal – 10

Vaccination Update

The number of health care workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 52 647 as of 6 pm 25 February 2021.
