In the past 24 hours 7 150 people tested positive for COVID-19, whilst 555 others died from the virus.
The three Provinces with the highest number of active cases are : – KZN with 45 736 cases,
Western Cape with 18 866 and Gauteng with 17 335 cases.
The breakdown of the new deaths are as follows:
- Kwa-Zulu Natal – 249
- Eastern Cape – 150
- Gauteng – 70
- Western Cape – 45
- Mpumalanga – 21
- Free State – 10
- Limpopo – 7
- Northern Cape – 3
