In the past 24 hours 4 525 people tested positive for COVID-19, whilst 213 others died from the virus.
The breakdown of the new deaths are as follows:
- Eastern Cape – 95
- Gauteng – 58
- Kwa-Zulu Natal – 23
- Mpumalanga – 17
- Free State – 8
- Western Cape – 8
- Northern Cape – 4
Meanwhile, the first batch of the vaccine is expected to arrive in South Africa this week.
