SOUTH AFRICA RECORDS 665 NEW COVID-19 INFECTIONS AND 19 NEW DEATHS

South Africa has recorded 665 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 12 739. The 19 new deaths brought the death toll from the virus to 238.

Data released by the Minister of Health shows that 56,8% of the infections come from the Western Cape, followed by Gauteng at 16,8% and the Eastern Cape at 12,3%.

The Western Cape still leads the country with 129 deaths. It is followed by KwaZulu-Natal at 31. Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape remain the only provinces which have not registered any deaths.
