The second wave of COVID-19 shows signs of slowing down. In the past 24 hours, 1 742 people
contracted the virus. Unfortunately 396 others died due to the virus during the same period.
Total confirmed cases in the country is now – 1 479 253, whilst total deaths to date are 46 869.
The breakdown of new deaths are as follows:
- Limpopo – 118
- Kwa-Zulu Natal – 85
- Gauteng – 81
- Western Cape – 65
- Eastern Cape – 20
- Mpumalanga – 18
- Free State – 6
- Northern Cape – 3
