Cell phones are one of the most popular communication tools used by South Africans today. According to Statistica, about 20 to 22 million people in South Africa use a smartphone and the number of smartphone users is forecast to grow by more than five million though till 2023.
Against this backdrop, it is not surprising that SAMWUMED has decided to launch its new Mobile App, which is available via the Google Play Store this Valentine’s Day.
The Mobile App, which comes hot on the heels of the launch of the Scheme’s new website, empowers members with critical information anywhere and anytime.
It boasts many features that will dramatically improve member experience. “Our Mobile App consolidates the implementation of our digital communications strategy,” says Principal Officer, Ms Francina Mosoeu. “It is a demonstration of our commitment and prioritisation of member and stakeholder communication.” She added.
Amongst others the App enables Members to access:
- A digital membership card
- SAMWUMED’s overall health benefits (Hospitalisation, Dentistry, Optometry, Maternity, medication, chronic illness cover, etc.)
- Their Tax Certificates
- Membership Cards
- Medical Aid benefits
- Contributions
- Claims paid
- Latest Member Statements
- Scheme contact details
- Individual Member details
The App will also place important information at the fingertips of employer groups and give them the ability to conveniently assist the members to communicate with the Scheme.
