Mammograms or breast cancer screenings are images that enable healthcare providers to see inside breasts to see early signs of cancer in women who are not experiencing symptoms. They are also used to see other breast diseases in women who are experiencing symptoms such as lumps, pain, skin dimpling or nipple discharge.
Members are able to have one Mammogram screening a year as part of their benefits.
That is not all, members between the ages of 25 and 65 years can have Cervical Cancer checks, whilst those between 50 and 70 years can have Colon Cancer checks. In addition, they can get checked for Prostate Cancer.
Cervical cancer affects the lower-most part of the uterus (womb). It can be detected early through a PAP smear screening. Likewise, cancer of the colon and of the prostate may not have symptoms, but can be seen through screenings or health checks.
