PRESIDENT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA GOES INTO SELF ISOLATION

President Cyril Ramaphosa has gone into isolation after coming into contact with a guest who tested positive for COVID-19 at a charity event.

The President is reported by his office not be having any symptoms and that all COVID-19 protocols including the wearing of masks and social distancing were adhered to at the charity event.

This as South Africa records more COVID-19 cases. In the past 24 hours 1 092 new cases and 45 new deaths were recorded. Total cases since the beginning of the pandemic now stand at 717 851 and deaths at 19 053.

South Africa’s active cases are currently 50 965.
