NEW COVID-19 CASES DECLINE BUT 755 NEW DEATHS REPORTED

755 people have died in the past 24 hours due to COVID-19 complications. This as new cases reduce to 13 105 from the previous day’s 15 046.

South Africa’s cases since the start of the pandemic are now – 1 259 748.Total deaths are now – 34 334

Gauteng led other Provinces with the highest tally of deaths (225). The breakdown of other Provinces is as follows:

  • Kwa-Zulu Natal – 218
  • Eastern Cape – 134
  • Western Cape – 128
  • Free State – 26
  • Limpopo – 11
  • Mpumalanga – 11
  • Northern Cape – 2

Provinces with the highest active cases are:

  • KZN – 66 337
  • Gauteng – 45 548
  • Western Cape – 44 252
