New COVID-19 cases dropped to 4 551 and new deaths reduced to 243 in the past 24 hours. This was an improvement, when compared to yesterday’s 300 deaths and 8 147 new cases.
The breakdown of the new deaths are as follows:

- Kwa-Zulu Natal – 60
- Western Cape – 57
- Gauteng – 33
- Free State – 18
- Mpumalanga – 5
- Northern Cape – 5
