NEW COVID-19 CASES AND DEATHS INCREASE AGAIN

New COVID-19 cases and deaths have increased again in the past 24 hours.
6 041 people contracted the virus and 680 others died. This is compared to 4 551 new cases and 243 new deaths of the previous reporting cycle.

The breakdown of the new deaths are as follows:

  • Kwa-Zulu Natal – 306
  • Gauteng – 141
  • Western Cape – 95
  • Eastern Cape – 86
  • Free State – 28
  • Mpumalanga – 18
  • Limpopo – 4
  • Northern Cape – 2
