- Option A benefits cover medical and surgical devices, including orthotics, within a yearly limit based on the number of dependant numbers.
- Mobility/walking aids like crutches, walking frames, slings, and collars are covered without authorisation up to a yearly limit.
- Immobilisation splints for limbs are also covered every year, and foot-related orthotics every two years without pre-authorisation.
- However, oxygen therapy, CPAP devices, certain boots and braces, incontinence and stoma products require pre-authorisation.
- Blood pressure monitors and other medical devices have a four-year cycle but need chronic medicine authorisation.
- Hearing aids, manual wheelchairs and spinal braces need authorisation and have a four-year cycle.
- There is no funding for electric wheelchairs and scooters.

- Mobility aids like crutches, walking frames, slings, collars and immobilisation splints are funded without authorisation.
- Foot-related orthotics are funded every two years without pre-authorisation.
- However, oxygen therapy, CPAP devices, certain boots and braces, incontinence and stoma products require pre-authorisation.
- Blood pressure monitors and other medical devices have a four-year cycle but need chronic medicine authorisation.
