Adding a dependent
- A Member may apply for the registration of his or her dependents at the time of the membership application.
- Registration for a newborn or newly adopted child must be done within 30 days of the date of birth or adoption of the child. If this timeline is missed, then a general waiting period of 3 months will apply.
- Similarly, registration of a spouse if the member marries after joining SAMWUMED has to be done within 30 the marriage. If this timeline is missed, then a general waiting period of 3 months will apply.
Removing a dependent
- A Member must give the Scheme a one month written notice to cancel the registration of a dependent.
- Once a dependent is no longer a dependent, the member must inform the Scheme within 30 days.
