1 729 new COVID-19 cases and 106 new deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, taking the national case total to 740 254 since the beginning of the pandemic. The death toll is now 19 951.
The breakdown of the latest deaths is as follows:
- 24 from Eastern Cape
- 33 from North West
- 15 from the Free State
- 15 from Western Cape.
- 12 from Kwazulu Natal
- 7 from Gauteng
The recovery rate is 92%
