In 2020 SAMWUMED has given members more reasons to stay and those who are not members, more reasons to want to join the Scheme.
All the Scheme benefits have been increased from what they were in 2019 to ensure greater value for members. For example:
- Hospitalisation
Improved hospital coverage for members on both Option A and Option B.
- Over the Counter Medication
This has been increased by Inflation plus 5% on both Option A and Option B.
In real terms this means that members are able to get more medication from pharmacies than they did last year.
- Medication
Improvements have been effected on general medication benefits. For example, members on Option B received R10 150 in 2019 and in 2020 they will receive R11 020 worth of acute medication benefits.
- Separate In and Out of Hospital Benefit for: – Radiology, Pathology and Physiotherapy. This means that if members are admitted to hospital Radiology, Pathology and Physiotherapy benefits are not touched.
