18 503 PEOPLE TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 & 712 OTHERS DIE

18 503 people tested positive for COVID-19 and 712 others died from the virus in the past 24 hours. Total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic according to the Minister of Health are 1 296 806, and total deaths are 35 852.

The breakdown of the latest deaths is reflected below:

  • Western Cape – 162
  • Gauteng – 114
  • Eastern Cape – 97
  • North West – 50
  • Free State – 21
  • Northern Cape – 15
  • Limpopo – 11
